Mr. Ahmed possesses a diversified 31 years of experience of Regulating, Supervising, Monitoring, and auditing the Islamic banking and finance sector of Pakistan and Oman. Munir Ahmed possesses a diversified experience of working with the regulators. He has been employed with the State Bank of Pakistan since 1983. After 29 years, he was approached by the Sultanate to work with the Central Bank of Oman. He has played an important role in setting up the Islamic Banking Department at SBP when Islamic Banking began in 1980 in Pakistan. He has been active in coming up with regulations as far as Shariah Compliance Islamic Banking industry wide in Pakistan, is concerned. Presently in Oman, he has succeeded in expanding the industry share to 4% from the time it started in December 2012. Munir Ahmed Master’s Degree holder from Karachi University in Economics, and a Fazil-e-Arabic graduate degree holder.
