Dr. Irfan Aleem serves as Chief Economist at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce – Qatar. Previously, he was Senior and Lead Economist at the Islamic Development Bank, Jeddah, and the World Bank, Washington. He was tasked with advancing the country’s dialogue with member countries. He directed the planning and execution of member nations’ partnership strategy and the development efficiency of the Bank operations through policy review and initiatives such as regional integration and collaboration. He is an executive member and ESAAC advisor.
Mr. Irfan has a PhD from the University of Oxford and a Master’s Degree from Imperial College London.
